currently serving mamas and families in O’ahu

Hello! I’m Alecia — a student midwife, certified birth and postpartum doula, holistic nutritionist, and trauma-informed caregiver with nearly four years of experience supporting families through some of life’s most trying and transformative moments.

With a background in dietetics, maternal mental health, pelvic floor therapy, and hands-on birthwork, my approach is both heart-led and deeply informed. I’ve supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, loss, and everything in between — always with gentleness, cultural humility, and the belief that every family deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported.

I’ve come to Hawai‘i to continue my midwifery education and humbly learn from the wisdom of this land, its people, and its birthkeepers. While in this season of learning, I’m honored to offer care that blends evidence-based support with emotional presence, respect, and deep listening.

Whether you’re preparing to welcome a baby, navigating postpartum, or looking for grounded guidance through any chapter of your reproductive journey — I’m here to walk alongside you.

I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for having Alecia by my side during labor. From start to finish, she was an absolute rock, providing me with the support, guidance, and encouragement I needed to navigate one of the most intense experiences of my life.

Throughout the entire labor, she was there, offering hands-on support when I needed it and verbal reassurance when I was overwhelmed. She helped me stay calm and centered, always reminding me of my strength, and helped me communicate my needs with the medical team. It was like having someone in the room who truly understood what I was going through and knew exactly what to do to make me feel more comfortable.

One of the things that stood out the most was her ability to be present and attentive, but never overbearing. She made sure my partner was also involved and supported, which helped everyone feel at ease. Her knowledge of labor techniques was invaluable—whether it was providing counter-pressure during contractions, helping me switch positions, or guiding my breathing, she was on it every step of the way.

Thanks to Alecia, the entire experience was so much smoother than I ever anticipated. She made a potentially overwhelming process feel empowering and manageable. I truly don’t know how I would have done it without her! If you're considering hiring a doula, I can't recommend Alecia enough. She was absolutely essential in helping me have the birth experience I wanted.

Thank you, Alecia, for everything you did!

Alecia was amazing! I have a very good eye for service and I have never seen someone so focused. My wife had an unusually long delivery that she would not have been able to manage without her guidance. She never lost focus once. She was supportive, knowledgeable and collaborated well with hospital staff. Any husbands on the fence about whether a doula is necessary…listen to these words: It’s not about what you want, it’s what your wife needs. Thank you for showing me what true caring looks like in action!

My experience with LCB, and specifically Alecia, was incredible. As a birth professional myself I came with a unique perspective in that I did not need childbirth education but knew the evidence that supported the role of doulas in reducing complications of birth and increasing satisfaction. I had a beautiful, doula supported natural birth with my first child and wanted to do everything I could to have a similar experience with my second.

From the beginning Alecia was accessible, supportive and open. She helped walk me through a few decisions I had to make with curiosity and thought provoking questions while never inserting her own values or opinions-that is quite a skill!! She stayed with me through a long, 22 hour labor offering near constant hands on support that helped me move through each labor wave. My goal was to have a "hospital home birth" and she helped me achieve exactly what I wanted. When my labor was approaching 20 hours and there was thought that the baby was malpositioned she helped guide my birth team and I through the decision to rupture membranes artificially which was not in my original preferences. This was exactly what needed to happen to get baby to rotate and move towards delivery. With her guidance I felt 100% in control of that decision and had time to weigh the risks vs benefits and discuss it with my husband. Just a short time later my baby was born in the (LED) candlelight, into my own hands from an upright position with our chosen song playing-when was the last time you saw that happen in a hospital?! (I have to include a huge acknowledgement to my doctor, Kelsey Koenig, MD w/ ProHealth Care who was also a key player and 100% supportive of /a strong advocate for my goals and preferences).

Overall, I can't imagine going through labor without Alecia. Postpartum she checked in frequently and offered support and a listening early through those challenging early newborn days. Despite her contract being "fulfilled" now almost 4 weeks postpartum, we continue to stay in touch and she will forever have a place in my heart. My only hope is that every woman has the opportunity to be supported in labor as I was. It is 100% worth the investment. There is no baby shower gift worth what a doula can do for you so skip the expensive stroller and ask for a doula instead!

I would recommend Alecia to anyone thinking of hiring a doula for their birth. Do not hesitate for a second. Alecia, took the time to have her first intro call with me while she was traveling on vacation. Right there speaks volume to her love and passion she has in the realm of birth work. She was kind, compassionate, down to earth and continued to keep pushing me to my goal of having a home birth when certain things were not aligning. She made me feel confident, supported, and I would not have had the experience I did with my Home birth if it wasn’t for her. Thank you Alecia!

I can't recommend Lake Country Birth and getting a doula enough! Alecia was my doula and she went above and beyond. My labor and delivery experience was so much better with her by my side. I just wish I would have had a doula for my first child too.

My husband and I worked with Alecia during my pregnancy and we are so grateful to have had her be a part of our journey. Our original goal in working with a Doula was to have someone that could provide expertise and education on pregnancy and labor and to help us develop a birth plan. But Alecia impacted our experience in so many more ways! Alecia quickly became a friend. Her collaborative approach always brought me a sense of peace and excitement instead of anxiety when we would meet. I felt so confident and prepared for labor. On the day our daughter was born, Alecia showed up for us like we could’ve never imagined. Coaching me through every single contraction. Alecia is kind, calming, professional and a joy to be around. Thank you for everything, Alecia!

Having Alecia as my doula was the best investment I made my entire pregnancy! I truly couldn’t have done it without her and am beyond happy with my decision to work with her. Before labor she gave me so many great tips and education for the healthiest pregnancy and delivery. During labor she grounded me, helped me keep a positive mindset, and made me feel safe and strong the entire time. There’s no doubt in my mind that I had such a great pregnancy and natural delivery all thanks to the support of my doula! ♥️♥️

Alecia was fabulous to work with! She will seek to learn what your goals/concerns are for your birth, and then guide you through options and information to help prepare and support you/your support person through your pregnancy, birth and early postpartum journey. She was available by text for any question, happy to meet in person or virtually as often as we wanted throughout the pregnancy, attend a prenatal appointment, walk you through writing your birth plan, teach positions for birth, go through yoga/stretches/breathing prep for during pregnancy, and do check ins throughout the pregnancy and especially at the last few weeks to truly help you feel at ease. She is very knowledgeable and has extensive experience, helping both my partner and I feel empowered as first time parents. Lastly, on the day of my birth she was in contact with me from early on when contractions began all the way through the delivery, and even after, helping to support us both physically, emotionally and with advocacy in decision making. I truly could not have had the unmedicated hospital birth I wanted without her, she was absolutely essential to the healthy delivery of my baby.
